What is body frame size?

Body frame size is often used as the informal definition of body composition that adjusts for skeletal mass. Since a lot of bodyweight prescriptions such as body mass index (BMI) do not account for body fat levels, body frame size calculation can be a valuable determinant of the physique.

Your body frame size index can be small, medium, or large. Although note that the index is likely not associated with the density or the strength of your bones.

How to measure your wrist:

  1. Grab a flexible but non-stretchable measuring tape (preferably 0.7 cm or 0.3 inches wide)
  2. Wrap the measuring tape around the circumference of your wrist, just above the knobby bone, until it overlaps
  3. Record the measurement where the zero end meets the remaining tape
